An Update on the FMC Staff

Friends,

Here’s some important news on the staff at FMC:

Cindy Palmer

Pastor Cindy will take a much-needed and deserved sabbatical from December 19 to January 31. Cindy has been on the First Methodist Carrollton staff for more than ten years and is qualified for this sabbatical to prayerfully refresh and renew for the coming year. We celebrate with Cindy as she takes this opportunity to care for herself, and we are in the process of getting some temporary help to cover the pastoral care and visitation that is so much a part of Cindy’s job.

K.J. Roelke

Last spring, KJ joined our staff as the communication director. In the short period he has been here, he has become an integral part of our staff and church family. Unfortunately, KJ has received and accepted a job with the Choctaw Nation to be their web developer. KJ has shared that the Choctaw group approached him with what he described as “his dream job.” He will complete his work with First Methodist Carrollton on January 4. We are excited for KJ but know replacing him and his work will be challenging, even for the short period he has been here. He is working diligently to prepare for our needs during the interim.

“I have loved working here, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to steward this role for as long as it has been mine to care for. As we head into next year, I’m encouraged by the love and resilience of this congregation to continue to boldly chase after God’s dreams for FMC. Continue to press into your values, to be a people of action and generosity, and surely our neighborhoods will be filled with God’s love.”

Discipleship & Children’s Director

Staff Parish is meeting on Wednesday to do a final interview with the children/discipleship candidate that the search committee recommends. They will also be discussing possible interim solutions to cover communications as we search for our next hire.
