“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under Heaven.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1

After 26 years of dedicated service to our church, it is now time for Carolyn Davis to reap her harvest.

Carolyn has worked for the First United Methodist Church in children’s ministry for two and a half decades. She started as a nursery worker for the MDO and soon added working for the newly created FUMC Child Care Center. She filled her days playing kickball, telling Bible stories, cutting and coloring—and laughing. Her joy and enthusiasm were overflowing. She loved working with the children.

Her dedication and hard work were recognized and Carolyn was promoted to the Assistant Director of the child care center. She tackled the task of learning the administrative side of the child care ministry.

As the years passed, a new opportunity for leadership was presented.  Carolyn became the Director of the child care center. She coordinated the move from Pearl Street to our new campus.

Carolyn was an integral force working to grow new programs here on campus.  She welcomed children of all ages. The summer child care program blossomed. Before and after school care was provided for preschool participants. Carolyn was a welcoming face for everyone.

And now there is a new season. Carolyn Davis is retiring from the FUMC Child Care Center. Instead of caring for our students, she will be able to spend more time with her husband Mike and her daughters Natalie and Jessica.

We thank Carolyn for her many years of service to our church. We wish her well in her new endeavors. Godspeed, Carolyn!
