Hi, I’m Lindy and I’m excited about an opportunity to fill you in on all our church supports as we fill every neighborhood with the good news of God’s love, from Carrollton to Cambodia and beyond! Missions Weeks are coming, beginning this Sunday. Missions work has changed significantly from the days when people left home for another continent for a lifetime. While some still do that, travel, technology, and those from around the world who live in our very neighborhoods have opened new doors for reaching the world with Jesus’s love and saving message.

Despite the limitations of the global pandemic, the ten intrepid missionaries we support have continued their work creatively and with determination. Some of these supported missionaries will be attending our services, so you will have a chance to meet them and learn more about the ministries we are privileged to support.

We will focus on India this year. In addition to special presentations and speakers in the Sunday services the next few weeks, we have two opportunities to learn more about Hindu religion and culture. Wednesday evening, February 23, join us for a delicious dinner with Indian origins (6 p.m. in Fellowship Hall), followed by a presentation from a couple who work in ministry with people of the Hindu faith (7 p.m. in the sanctuary). They will help us understand how best to relate to and introduce Jesus to our neighbors. On Saturday, February 26, join us as we tour the Hindu Temple in Irving and learn more about their faith. We will meet at church at 9:00 a.m. and go to the temple together in a van. Sign up here to join us. While this experience may be a little out of your comfort zone, I think you’ll walk away with a deeper understanding and appreciation of your own faith.

God is doing some great things around the world and in our own backyard, and I can’t wait for you to hear more about how God’s Kingdom is on the move!
