Sheffield Elementary Update

Published October 1, 2015 by First Methodist Carrollton in

At the beginning of the school year, First Church Women’s Ministry delivered gifts for all of the faculty and staff at Sheffield Elementary to let them know that we were praying for them and the children they teach. This was received with gladness and appreciation. As a result, Cindy Johnston was invited to come and share devotionals with some of the teachers as they meet weekly. Different staff members and members of the Women’s Committee are sharing in this ministry to those teachers.

Cindy also got connected with the school’s counselor. We are waiting for specific information so that we can provide coats to about 20 students. (These students are classified as homeless, and they are just a few of those considered homeless within the Carrollton-Farmers Branch school district.) Stay tuned for more information about how you can help provide coats!

We are also working on providing shoes for students in need with the VBS offering brought by the children.

God has definitely opened a door for us to serve at Sheffield. We are in process of setting up a mentoring program with them as well. If you are interested in getting involved, contact Cindy Johnston or Susan Sublett and let them know.
