The Looking-Ahead Month

Published September 30, 2014 by First Methodist Carrollton in

October is here! Maybe you are like me, I love October… the weather is usually great, I feel like I have settled into my routine for the school year, and the church is usually bubbling with activity.

October is also the month that many churches, including us, spend time on the ministry of stewardship. There is much to be considered regarding stewardship that always evaluates how we as God’s people are doing as individuals and how we are doing as a church in using what God has given to us in time, talents, spiritual gifts, and monetary gifts. We will do some of these activities together and some individually, but all of these activities will provide the input that we need in order to plan our ministries for 2015.

I am working on a project that will have several steps to a ministry strategy that will guide us toward the vision that God is giving us as His People in Carrollton, Texas. After 15 months as your pastor, I believe that God has called us together, and has equipped us for a unique place in God’s plans for the Kingdom work that needs to be done. Please pray for your pastors and staff, your church leaders, and for your brothers and sisters in this congregation that we might discern the ministry goals that God has planned for us, and that we might clearly discern the strategy that will enable us to be faithful to God’s call.

Brandon Clark joins our church staff effective October 1 as a full-time addition to our program ministry staff. Brandon and Leah recently relocated to our area and we are pleased to have them in our congregation. The primary focus for Brandon will be ministry to and with our young adults.

Thank you for your prayers…

Doug
