Church News & Announcements

Here’s a quick look at what’s going on at First Methodist Carrollton!

Blessing of the Backpacks

This Sunday!

This week we have the privilege of praying over anyone and everyone related to the education field, from students to teachers, administrators and beyond. Recent events can make going places feel intimidating, but I’m so encouraged by this opportunity to pray for everyone involved in this vital industry. Students are encouraged to bring their backpacks to service.

I’m inviting you to take a tag if you know someone (or you are that someone) who needs to be reminded that they are covered in prayer going into the school year.

Back to School Brunch

This Sunday from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m.

Also this Sunday, we’ll have pancakes and bacon available to anyone in our community who wants it! This is a great, low-commitment way to invite a friend to church and a way we are intentionally doing what we can to show we care for our local community.

Thanks to the Boy Scouts for partnering with us to make it happen!

Final Missions Update

August 10 in the Fellowship Hall

We will hear from:

  • our Youth about their New Orleans trip earlier this summer
  • Ron and Annette Thiessen from New Life Children’s Home in Honduras
  • John Paul Scarbrough about their ministry in Mexico.

Dinner at 6 followed by a program at 7.
