Charles & Becky Jackson
The Lord has opened new doors for teaching, speaking and working with people in the past year. Generous Hands Ministry has had the opportunity to serve in the Philippines. We are working in the Philippines in three areas; the city, a seminary and an orphanage for children. We are looking forward to seeing where the Lord will lead GHM in this coming year. Thank you for your prayers and support.
Elisabeth Jackson
Liz went on her first short term mission trip to Brazil at the age of eight. After that she lived in Costa Rica for one year to learn Spanish, served in Paraguay for two years with her family and spent six months in Brazil. Since that time she earned a B.S. in Kinesiology and also received her TELF certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). She worked with Project Transformation as a summer intern and then as a site-coordinator for an after-school program in inner-city Dallas. For eighteen months, Elisabeth lived and taught English in South Korea. More recently, she served as an intern with Generous Hands Ministries taking two short-term trips to India and spending two months in Brazil.
Elisabeth worked under the ministry of Generous Hands Ministries in India. She worked with children in the South End Park slum, The Alpha Girl’s Home and Agape International. Due to restrictions in India she was unable to renew her visa. She writes, “Over the past few months life has been rough, but God in His mercy is healing my heart and giving me peace in letting go of India and my ministry there. I miss the children every day and all the love I got to give and even more the love I received. India will always have a place in my heart and I will never stop praying for God to bless everyone with whom I came into contact.”
Liz recently left for the Philippines. She serves under Generous Hands Ministries and working with Knox United Methodist Church in Manila. Her responsibilities include teaching some English classes and coaching basketball for Bethel Knox School which is a non-profit outreach academy. She also helps with the outreach ministry to homeless children.
