Virtual Prayer Walk

This prayer walk is powered by scrolling. Simply move through the page until you reach the closing prayer at the end.

As you move through the halls of First Methodist Carrollton, ask that you see it with God’s eyes, not simply your own. Use, as needed, the suggestions listed below as well as a suggested prayer and guiding scriptures.
We will be moving through each area of our church to pray for every age and every ministry of First Methodist Carrollton.
Center your mind on the things of Christ.
Take a moment to pray for your family and church friends.

The foyer is a place of welcoming, not just on Sundays and Wednesdays, but for people of all walks of life. As you spend a moment here, consider not just our church, but all other groups who use our campus:
  • Members of the Dallas Millennial Choir and Orchestra
  • Members of the Dallas Institute of Dance
  • Members of Boy Scout Troop 121
  • Students and Staff of Trivium Academy
  • Those associated with weddings, funerals and other events that use our space.
Lord, as people cross the threshold of Your house, may they know Your grace and peace. May they be filled with the knowledge that FMC is a place of welcoming and rest. Keep us mindful of all who enter these halls, that we might be excellent representations of your love to them.

Missions Wall

Even as we think about our physical space, our missions wall is a place to intentionally look beyond our four walls and know that God is moving both in Carrollton and communities around the globe.

We pray protection and strength for our missionaries overseas and for those who minister in this country. Show us how we can provide encouragement, provision and partnership in new ways both locally and globally.

Nursery Hallway

  • Pray for the children who walk these halls each day.
    • Pray that God will grant them a passion and grace to learn new things.
    • Pray that they will fall more in love with Him as they spend time here.
  • Pray for our preschool staff
    • to overflow with patience, grace, love for their students, and a love of teaching!
    • Pray that their enthusiasm flows down to the students entrusted to them for this school year.

Lord, for the children and their parents/guardians, may these halls be a place of joy and excitement. Fill our teachers with love and compassion as they welcome both parties each day. May Your long-suffering and loving-kindness reign throughout the day, that the children who learn and grow here would know You better as they have fun and develop into who You have called them to be.

Fellowship Hall

  • Pray for our community and the support we offer in the name of Christ.
  • Pray for unity of purpose in our work together as God’s people.
  • Pray that God will bless the meals and people that gather for fellowship.

Thank you, Lord, for this space to share meals and meetings. May those who are guests feel welcome in this space. We thank You for the celebrations that take place in this room, and ask that You keep us vigilant in our efforts to grow our community and be a welcoming, hospitable place for all who enter.

First Kids

  • Pray that the Gospel will sink into each child’s heart.
  • Pray for our volunteers and staff who work with children.
  • Pray that God would lead our new Discipleship director to us and that it would begin a new chapter for our children’s ministry.

Thank You for a room for learning and fun, for singing and praying. We thank You, Lord, for our children and their teachers. May we always point them to You. Help us to be flexible, adaptable, and grace-filled as You lead us and our new discipleship director to each other.

Youth Room

  • Pray for teens who walk through these doors each week.
    • Pray that they would lean into each other for support and encouragement
    • Pray that they would ask good questions as they learn more about living like Jesus
  • Pray for our youth leaders, that they would build lasting relationships with the students in their groups and be mentors for years to come.
Thank you Lord, for those who minister and support our youth. In this season of growing and learning, may they look to You for all things. We pray that our students learn to trust in You, that they might be shining lights in their schools and homes, guiding others to You.

  • Pray that God will anoint the teachers with wisdom and inspiration.
  • Pray for the spread of Biblical holiness for those who study and discuss God’s Word.
  • Pray that each group be welcoming to visitors and be motivated to action and service as they wrestle with how Jesus would interact with our world.

May You be honored in all of our classrooms. Help us to live and love more like You. Keep us from simply learning about You and move us to action, that we might be Your hands and feet in our communities, workplaces, and homes.

END Zone

  • Pray that God will bless each child that will hear the Gospel.
  • Pray for our volunteers and staff who work with children.

As these soon-to-be teenagers navigate some of the most awkward years of their lives, may they be filled with knowledge of how You love them. Help the teachers and students to build solid biblical foundations, that as the students grow and change, they would remain secure in their love for You.

Church Offices

  • Pray for each of our staff and pastors.
  • Pray for inspiration, anointing, and wisdom.

Kind Father, we ask that You would grow the spirit of unity and collaboration amongst our staff. Even as we await Your new arrivals, we know You are calling us forward to Your bright future. Help us to increase in our partnership with each other, that staff and volunteers would multiply the work You are doing through this church.

  • Pray that God will fill our worship with inspiration.
  • Pray that God will bless every person who joins in worship.
  • Pray for God’s glory in our music and preaching.
  • Pray that the message of salvation will be preached and heard.
  • Pray that our altar will be filled with those who need prayer.
Thank you Lord for this space where we gather for worship. May  those who lead in singing and preaching have clarity and discernment as they prepare for services each week. We pray for those sitting in the congregation, that they would be drawn closer to you

A Closing Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
Please protect and bless all those who walk through the doors of First Methodist Carrollton. May You bless them in each area of their life—spiritual, emotional, and physical. Shelter each of our church family in Your refuge and fortress.

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
— Psalm 91:1-2

Help us not be anxious about anything, but instead to remember to give those worries to You in prayer.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:6-7

Guard the hearts and minds of all those who walk the halls of First Methodist Church.

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
— Psalm 73:26

The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance on you and give you peace.

Numbers 6:24-26
