As a youth group, we want to be a refuge for each other and find our freedom and identity in God.
No need to fake it or fix yourself up first. We believe church is a place where everyone can belong and experience real community. Middle school and high school students (grades 7-12) participate together in all our events, and for good reason: our older students enjoy mentoring the younger ones and getting them plugged into the youth group. First Methodist Youth have a history of engaging in the life of the church through worship and service as full participating members. In the youth group and in the church, we want students to know they belong here.
Sunday Mornings
The youth are invited to hang out and enjoy breakfast in the youth lounge from 9-9:15 a.m. From there, we break out into small groups where students learn to apply the Bible to their daily lives. These are designed to connect every student with a committed adult and community where they can grow in their faith.
Wednesday Nights
Wednesday nights are the best way to jump into our youth ministry. It happens every Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. The youth experience amazing community through interactive games, student-led worship, and Bible-based messages. Our goal is for every student to know Jesus and know they belong.
Annual Events
We kick off the year with MidWinter Retreat, a weekend for youth to dig into their faith with college leaders. It's the second weekend in January, from Friday night to Sunday morning.
Mission Trip is the highlight of the summer for our youth, with fun activities and serious service projects.
