Thanks for checking out First Methodist Carrollton! Right now, everything looks a little different because of COVID-19. We are offering two identical worship services at 9 and 10:30 a.m. both on campus and online (on Facebook and YouTube).
Click here to read more about our Sunday protocols right now, or keep scrolling to get a feel for what things are like when there's not a global pandemic happening.
(Most people visit first on a Sunday, but we also have dinner and activities for all ages on Wednesday nights - learn more about Wednesday Community Life.)
We know it can be kind of awkward or even intimidating to walk into a new place for the first time... especially church. Keep reading and we'll do our best to let you know what to expect before you show up.
Our services on Sunday usually last about an hour. The 9 and 10:30 a.m. services are identical - come whenever it's best for you!
What to wear
We're a multigenerational church, so you'll see all kinds of styles here! Some men will wear suits, a few of our ladies have a fancy coordinating hat for every dress, and you might see traditional clothing from India, Nigeria, and Pakistan. But most of us are pretty casual - you'll see a lot of jeans (and even shorts with t-shirts or hoodies, depending on how crazy the Texas weather happens to be...) so wear what's comfortable for you!
What about kids?
Our kids ministry is a place where kids meet Jesus, experience His love, and have fun while learning to be more like Him! We offer unique content for the 9 and 10:30 a.m. services, so if you come to worship and check out a Sunday class, your kids will get two complementary lessons, and lots of different games, activities, and songs.
We have a secure check-in system for infants-fourth grade. You and your child will get matching security stickers; it becomes their name tag, and you'll turn in your sticker to pick them up. Learn more about our children's ministry.
Older kids love hanging out in END Zone (grades 5-6) and Youth (grades 7-12) at 9 a.m. and they fully participate in the life of our church in the 10:30 a.m. worship service.
what about the service?
Music in our worship services is led each week by our band and vocal team and often includes our worship orchestra and adult choir. We sing a mixture of new worship songs and historic hymns of the faith, a musical mix that allows people of all ages to connect to Jesus.
In every service, we also pray together, read Scripture, and hear a message based on the word of God.
