Thanks for checking out First Methodist Carrollton! Right now, everything looks a little different because of COVID-19. We are offering a worship service at 10:30 a.m. both on campus (with distancing and lots of safety precautions) and online (on Facebook and YouTube).
Click here to read more about our Sunday protocols right now, or keep scrolling to get a feel for what things are like when there's not a global pandemic happening. Feel free to browse the rest of our site for more information on specific ministries, but be aware that most of it is also based on non-pandemic standards!
We know it can be kind of awkward or even intimidating to walk into a new place for the first time... especially church! Keep reading and we'll do our best to let you know what to expect before you show up.
Our service on Sunday is at 10:30 a.m. and it usually lasts about an hour.
What to wear
We're a multigenerational church, so you'll see all kinds of styles here! Some men will wear suits, a few of our ladies have a fancy coordinating hat for every dress, and you might see traditional clothing from India, Nigeria, and Pakistan. But most of us are pretty casual - you'll see a lot of jeans (and even shorts with t-shirts or hoodies, depending on how crazy the Texas weather happens to be...) so wear what's comfortable for you!
What about kids?
Our nursery, for infants through age 4, is always open on Sundays. You can check in your little ones at any time. You and your child will get matching security stickers; it becomes their name tag, and you'll turn in your sticker to pick them up. If you have elementary-age kids, they'll start out in worship with you. We believe the best way for kids to learn how to worship is by experiencing it with their family and being fully included in church.
Early in the service, we have a children's message and all kids are invited to come to the front. After the children's message, the little ones return to the nursery, kids in Kindergarten and First Grade can go to Children's Church in the First Kids Clubhouse, while older kids will stay with you. Learn more about our children's ministry.
what about the service?
Music in our worship services is led each week by our band and vocal team and often includes our worship orchestra and adult choir. We sing a mixture of new worship songs and historic hymns of the faith, a musical mix that allows people of all ages to connect to Jesus.
In every service, we also pray together, read Scripture, and hear a message based on the word of God.
We'd love to meet you at the door, give you the grand tour, and help you get connected on your first visit here - just let us know you're coming by filling out the form below!
