New Here?

Welcome! Every Sunday we gather together as a community of friends and family.

Thanks for checking out First Methodist Carrollton! We know it can be kind of awkward or even intimidating to walk into a new place for the first time... especially church. Keep reading and we'll do our best to let you know what to expect before you show up.

Even if you’re new to Texas, you’ve probably noticed that DFW has some pretty big, pretty amazing churches. Spoiler alert: we’re not big, but our community is pretty amazing. We don’t have all the bells and whistles you could find at a megachurch - but we’re right-sized to walk with you through the ups and downs of life.

If you’re looking for a friend, or a mentor, or a family-feel community — we got you! We’re a multigenerational church community that’s been rooted in Carrollton for over 120 years. We’d love to meet you and help you find your place here. Check us out this Sunday - we worship at 10:30 a.m. and it usually lasts about an hour. If you want to get connected, come at 9 a.m. to check out our classes for all ages. Our address is 2201 E. Hebron Pkwy. Carrollton, TX 75010.

What to wear

We're a multigenerational church, so you'll see all kinds of styles here! Some men will wear suits, a few of our ladies have a fancy coordinating hat for every dress, and you might see traditional clothing from India, Nigeria, and Pakistan. But most of us are pretty casual - you'll see a lot of jeans (and even shorts with t-shirts or hoodies, depending on how crazy the Texas weather happens to be...) so wear what's comfortable for you!

What about kids?

Our nursery, for infants through age 4, is always open on Sundays. You can check in your little ones at any time. You and your child will get matching security stickers; it becomes their name tag, and you'll turn in your sticker to pick them up. If you have elementary-age kids, they'll start out in worship with you. We believe the best way for kids to learn how to worship is by experiencing it with their family and being fully included in church.

About halfway through the service, before the message, we'll dismiss kids in grades K-3 to a worship service designed just for them called Blast! Teachers will walk them out through the front right doors of the sanctuary back to our First Kids Clubhouse at the end of the hall. If they haven't been checked in yet, a parent/guardian will need to go with them to receive a security tag, which you'll return in order to pick them up after the service. Learn more about our children's ministry.

What about the service?

Music in our worship services is led each week by our band and vocal team and often includes our worship orchestra and adult choir. We sing a mixture of new worship songs and historic hymns of the faith, a musical mix that allows people of all ages to connect to Jesus.

In every service, we also pray together, read Scripture, and hear a message based on the word of God. Nick and Blossom Matthews are our co-senior pastors, and they alternate preaching from week to week. You can check out previous services on our YouTube channel.
