Local Missions Prayer Service

We had a great night of prayer last night for the local missions ministries going on in our church, and for those that we might start up in the near future!

If you missed it, please join us in prayer now. We focused on these ministries/categories:

Chin Refugee Ministry

• Baby supplies ministry (diapers, etc.) needs a leader!
• Organization of donations to CRM
• Chin/American relationships to develop
• Volunteers for one-time or ongoing mentor relationships
• The Chin church in Lewisville – leadership, direction
• Children entering schools (and parents enrolling them)
• Chin remaining in Burma under persecution

Feed My Starving Children
(September 23-24)

• Volunteers who have participated in the past to invite others
• Funding to come in on time for each payment due
• Volunteers to be excited about helping with fund raising
• Communities/children in the feeding program to develop and not need food aid any more!
• Logistics – God’s hand in preparing for the event
• For our community as we work together!

Benevolence Ministry

• That we would be sensitive to the needs of those coming into our church for financial, emotional, spiritual assistance
• That the love of Christ would show in staff/volunteers who meet each one
• Continued faithfulness for those supporting Benevolence through scrip cards or giving
• For individuals who come in seeking assistance – that they would encounter God’s love

Christ’s Foundry

• First Church commitment to provide meals for youth/kids – that relationships would be fostered and volunteers would come forward
• Foundry Worker’s Association – connecting church members with jobs
• Building under construction currently
• Volunteers needed for “Project Transformation” summer tutoring

Community Involvement

• Schools
• Workplaces
• Social teams/clubs
• Neighborhoods

Future Ministry?

• Direction and discernment moving forward
• Possibilities:

    Christ’s Foundry Free Store?
    Exercise & Health Ministry
    Partnership/ support for Dallas West Ministries
• For the compassion/purpose that came with studying Radical to be transformed into vision and action!
